Sincere Apology and an Update

First of all, I want to offer a sincere apology to all those who have been requesting wands throughout the last year or more. It has been very unprofessional of me to not respond to any of the messages, or to let anyone know how things have been going, or what has happened!

About two years ago, my main employment started getting extremely uncomfortable, and I found myself working in a hostile environment, going through some bullying and harassment. My family and I decided that it was time for a move and a change of employment. Work was found quickly and our move began, but the home we were in would not sell. With most of my wandmaking supplies placed into storage, it became near impossible for me to create wands or fill the orders I was receiving weekly.

My wandmaking supplies are still in storage and I still find it very difficult to do any wandmaking. I have a handful of wands that were created but never finished. Over the course of the next few weeks, I hope to be able to finish these wands and put them on the site. I will probably not be accepting any custom wand orders until I can pull my wandmaking supplies out of storage and find a place to use them regularly. I will, however, continue to keep the site open, and make available to sale of wands that are already made.

New Wands Woods!

I don't know if you're excited, but I know I am! I just procured some new wand woods, and most are kinds we've not had before! The new woods include hickory, mesquite, yew, and manzanita! I also picked up some more maple and mahogany also...

The new site is ready!

All thirty-two wands from the old website are now transferred over to the new site. I have more wands in the making, but they are not completed yet. When I get a chance to finish them, I'll add them to the store. In the mean time, all other wands are ready for sale.

I have one more page to create, and that is the one for customizing Pottermore wands. I feel like a few changes are in order, as carving and creating the twisted wand tips makes them very fragile and brittle. I may just stick to creating straight tips, but customizing the handles to look like the Pottermore style wands... We'll see!

More Wands in the Shop!

I've added another ten wands to the shop, bringing the total to fifteen. Please be patient while I add the wands a few at a time. Moving information over from the old site to the new one will take some time. I have a total of thirty-five wands that will eventually be in the shop, and with fifteen in there at the moment, I have about twenty more to add. Hopefully I'll get them in there by the end of the weekend!

Added the Wand Shop!

I've added the page for the wand shop.  There are currently only 5 wands showing there.  You'll have to give me a few days to get all the wands  that I currently have available uploaded to that page.  I have also had someone ask me if I could set up a PayPal and add a shopping cart to the page.  I'm looking into that, so you'll have to be patient with me.  The issue I have with it is shipping overseas to countries other than the US.  When I do this, there is more at stake than just adding a flat $8 USD to the cost of the wand for shipping...

Please be patient... I'm getting there!

New Site and the Transition!

I apologize for any confusion that you may experience jumping between the old site at teachanddiscover.net/wands and here at millsfamilywands.blogspot.com. My old server decided that they were going to close down, which necessitated the switch. Blogspot offers the ability to host a website without cost, and if I can figure out a way to maintain the domain name, we'll do that and add a domain pointer.

Anyway, I have everything moved over so far except the "shop" and that will come in the next few days...

Let me know, with the comments form, if there's anything you'd like to see, anything missing, or anything that is tough to use or follow!

Mills Family Wand Co. Info & Update

First off, I need to start this message off with a HUGE apology. Due to a series of unfortunate events, including surgeries, schooling, lost employment, and my web host's notice that they will be closing, I haven't been able to respond or check my wand emails in about ten months. Which means, there are folks who will be getting emails from me today that have been waiting for replies for almost a year. I know how unprofessional that is, and that is why I am sending this message and the opening reply. So, for the apology, I am so sorry that many of you have not received replies in a very long time from me...

Since it's been so long, I'm not sure how many of you are still interested in receiving or purchasing a wand from me. I've set up a gmail account to receive emails, and you can get a hold of me there for the time being.

If you are still interested in purchasing or inquiring about a wand, please send me an email to the above email address and I will be able to respond to you a little more promptly. I will be looking around for a new web host to see if I can continue running the Wand website, but at the moment, the site will be closing some time in September, from what my host has told me.

Again, I'm very sorry for the lack of responses from me and hope sincerely that if any of you are still interested in purchasing a wand, that you can get a hold of me. Thanks for your patience and understanding, and I hope to hear from you soon!
